Industrial Vocation Scholarship Program

The Iberville Chamber Foundation's Industrial Vocation Scholarship Program is an effort comprised of diverse community, industrial, and educational partners throughout Iberville Parish, committed to one goal: to provide a sustainable process to recruit, train, and develop Iberville parish residents for successful careers in industrial trade skills. 

Scholarships are available for qualifying seniors in Iberville Parish who wish to pursue careers as Millwrights, Welders, Pipe Fitters, Electrical/Instrumentation, Process Technicians and/or in the industrial and/or construction industry. This program awards individual $1,500.00 scholarships. Award recipients are not guaranteed future employment.

 

Requirements:

  • Current Resident of Iberville Parish or student attending a school in Iberville Parish
  • Current High School senior, GED equivalent, plans to or is currently attending a vocational/trade school in May 2024
  • Contingent upon enrollment or planning to enroll full-time or part-time at one of the following types of accredited institutions: vocational-technical school, trade school, two-year community college, state college, or industrial training program. Proof of enrollment will be required.

Scholarships will be awarded following a fair and transparent scoring/selection process. ICF does not and shall not discriminate based on any applicable protected classification including, but not limited to, race, color, religion (creed), gender, age, national origin (ancestry), and disability. These activities and operations include but are not limited to, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, advertising for available scholarships, selection of scholarship recipients, and the provision of related services. ICF is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of its staff, volunteers, vendors, applicants, and scholarship recipients. Due to IRS rules and regulations, ICF Board members shall disclose if any of the candidates are related to them by blood and they shall excuse themselves during the decision of awarding the scholarship for such candidate.

The Scholarship program is fully funded by Shintech – Louisiana, in partnership with the Iberville Chamber Foundation, to support and develop students in Iberville Parish.
